Hire a Hero – find veteran and service member applicants
SC Works Online Services (SCWOS) is South Carolina’s most comprehensive job-search tool, fueled by our state’s largest workforce development database. It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at no cost to jobseekers or employers.
Members of the military community receive priority service on SCWOS. For the first 24 hours that a job is listed on SCWOS, only jobseekers from the military community can view and apply for the position.
- Create an Employer account at SC Works Online Services. To ensure the integrity of the database, all new employer accounts must be verified. This typically takes 3-5 business days. Once approved, you’ll be notified via the email address you provided.
- Once approved, create a job order for the position you want to fill.
- Review resumes and applications within the system to find the candidates you need. You can easily identify applicants from the military community via the American flag icon that is associated with the jobseekers profile.
In addition, you can contact the employment advisor in your local area to receive direct referrals of quality, prescreened military applicants based on your qualifications.
You can also find qualified military applicants by recruiting at job fairs and hiring events. If you are in need of applicants, each of our SC Works offices will work with you to either create your own hiring event or get you the information that you need to be a part of a larger job fair.
